Major Scale Assessments


Each wind player enrolled in Band I,II,III,IV must correctly perform the 12 major scales listed below. The chromatic scale is assessed at mid-term and again for the final.  Six scales are assessed at mid-term and the remaining six plus the mid-term and chromatic scales are assessed for the final exam.  All scales are to be performed using the handout titled “One Octave Major Scales in Chromatically Adjacent Order” handout that was provided to you in class. The handout is also available, in the band room and on online at the TCHS Band Website (www.treasurecoastband.org)

Your performance will be evaluated on each scale based on the attached grading rubric and will be recorded during class. The metronome will be set at the required tempo for your class (70 or 90 bpm as listed below)
